Even when it is used in a small amount(normal dosage 0.25-0.5%) ,Carbomer can produce such a high thickening effect that it can be made into liquid cream ,medicinal extract, gel and pharmaceutics, which can be absorbed through skin, in a wide range of viscosity and different rheological property.
Carbomer polymer emulsifier is better than general one.
Being effective in a low concentration __0.1-0.5%, it replaces the traditional superficial active ingredient dosage 3-7%
Be free of the limitation of HLB and PIT
It can emulsify any kind of liquid oil at room temperature.
If it melts wax during the production, wax can be emulsified.
It makes full use of the function of the superficial active ingredient: moisten, dispersion and adherence, it can make out stable emulsion.
It can¡¯t be emulsified when it is reused. It is easy to make into water proof emulsion in the form of membrane dosage.
It can make tall oil dissolve into the water to be (o/w) emulsion.
It can make be made into nourishing and moistening cream, liquid cream, face wash product, suntan lotion£¬alcohol free perfume, essence hair lotion, hand cleanser ,thin consistency spray emulsion and transparent profound liquid cream, etc.
The application of carbomer resin in pharmacy:
Carbomer is a kind of polyacrylic acid cross linking polymer, and it can form high viscosity gel. So, it has been praised since the first use in 1950¡¯s. It can be made into Carbomer medical polymer .For example: thickener, suspending agent, gel matrix, biologic thickener, framework material that is used for controlled release formulation and sustained release medication etc. It is widely used as a rheological purpose in lotion, cream, ointment, and gel.
Carbomer can be an auxiliary material in nearly each kind of dosage.
